Projected Workshop Outcomes:
  • Participants will engage in strategies that build cross sector collaboration and communication skills.
  • Participants will gain a comprehensive “big picture” understanding of the Maryland early childhood system through professional relationships that build an informed approach to blueprint implementation.
  • Participants will learn and practice methods that enable them to collect and show evidence of measurable progress leading to successful outcomes for children and families
  • Participants will become systems thinkers who are better prepared to design and implement systems that support the MSDE blueprint on behalf of Maryland’s children and their families.
Objectives for  Thursday, November 3, 2022
  • Introduction to the Iceberg as a framework for understanding systems and the outcomes they produce.
  • Mental models: What role do mental models play as we work hard to achieve our goals and strive to understand people and systems that we want to influence?
  • Introduction to the Ladder of Inference
  • Mirror and the Star Exercise- Exam how it is easier it to function from our own point of view and understand the limits of that orientation.
  • Patterns and Trends level– paying attention to patterns and trends with Behavior-over-time Graphs
